Helping Emma to Enjoy Sport and Manage Injury
“I started rowing with the British Rowing Performance Development Academy two years ago in Bath and had a successful two seasons which took me from learning to row to competitive racing. I stopped training in Spring this year, due to severe lower back pain, and started getting help from Temple Performance in September when I moved up north for my Undergraduate placement year. I reached out to Temple in the hope of regaining the training structure that I had previously lost during the recovery months of my injury. I was conscious of my own tendency to get carried away with small bits of progress and was looking for a programme which would guide me to stay patient and consistent. Within 3 months, Temple has helped me get to a stronger place where I feel in control of my injury and able to enjoy sport again, my most optimistic self a few months ago would not have thought this possible.”
